The Astros used 3 pitchers in a combined no-hitter against the rival Rangers, the first no-hitter in the Major Leagues since Sept. 4, 2024. It was the 22nd combined no-hitter in MLB history.

Which Astros pitcher became the second player in Major League history to pitch in a no-hitter in his debut?
- Alimber Christmas
- Alimber Noel
- Alimber Church
- Alimber Santa
- Alimber Chimney
Answer: Alimber Santa. He threw the final two innings and became the second player to pitch in a no-hitter in his Major League debut, joining Bumpus Jones of the Reds, who threw a complete game no-hitter on Oct. 15, 1892.
Since I love the name Bumpus I looked him up and found out he won only one other game but is a Cincinnati Reds legend.
Here’s a photo of Bumpus Jones.
