The New York Mets inducted two new members this past weekend – one of them was manager Bobby Valentine, and the other is the subject of our next TWIST question.
Which 2 Mets were traded for each other and are now in the Mets Hall of Fame?
Answer: Ron Darling inducted in 2021, and Lee Mazilli in 2026.
In 1982 Mazilli was traded to the Rangers for Darling and Walt Terrell. In 1984 Terrell was traded to the Tigers for Howard Johnson. Mazilli was traded back to the Mets in 86 and had huge hits in Game 6 & 7 of the World Series – he played with the Mets till 89 and ranks 6th in stolen bases and third in pinch hits.
